The Well Keepers

Commission by Light Up Kilburn. A light installation honouring the healing water wells of Kilburn and contemporary "well keepers" or local community workers - Auda Sakho, Samantha Mandar, Sahara Ashanti  and Linett Kamala. During a workshop exploring the nature of care-giving, photos of the women's hands and their precious items were taken. These images were used to create digital artworks including soothing phrases the women used. Other artworks told the story of the Kilburn wells.
